The Reel Appeal
The Reel Appeal is hosted by ScreenGeek’s Mark Salcido and Your Entertainment Corner’s Kelsey Loiselle as they discuss life, reviews, and the state of cinema today. The duo removes the nostalgia protection and takes a bat to classic movies to see if they stand the test of time. No film is safe.

It's that special time of year. You know--when another Star Wars filmcomes out and everyone floods into the theaters, spending qualityfamily time with their loved ones as the family on screen kill eachother. What? Did you think we meant Christmas?
This episode we cover thelast film of each of the 3 trilogies. Those films are Star Wars:Revenge of the Sith, Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, and Star Wars: The Riseof Skywalker.
Normally, we do a spoiler bumper for the new film, however, we opted to just playthe trailer when we come to it and just spill our guts. Payattention to the times below for when it is safe to listen to the restof this episode in case.

Did you have a bad day? Wanna know who had a worse one than you? The main characters in our Recent Review of Uncut Gems and Geriatric Cinematic Review of After Hours, that's who. We will go on about their woes so they don't have to.
Before that, though, we cover Bob Iger and Martin Scorcese in the news. They might have wine together. Clint Eastwood's Richard Jewell is a flop and there is some controversy there. And of course, Queen & Slim gets a huge snub all the way around. Because of course it did.
Watchmen has ended, possibly for good. But it will seriously live on in the hearts and minds of all who watched it. And we have a lot to say as fans of the show. You really want to hear this.

So there we were. And there you were. All of us were. Star Wars also exists and we have to talk about it. Mark and Kelsey are on to the second film of each of the trilogies ahead of the release of the latest Star Wars movie. In case you don’t know, they are Star Wars: Attack of the Clones, Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back and Star Wars: The Last Jedi.
We have a little treat for you! In case you have never seen it, Bad Lip Reading did their thing to Star Wars: Empire Strikes Back called SEAGULLS! (Stop It Now). We'll show you a little in the episode but to get the full entertainment value, you should go check it out on their YouTube page.

Guys! We're here to talk about the news again!--and other stuff! We talk Planet of the Apes after the Disney/Fox merger. Also, the Golden Globes are around the corner and they are up to their old tricks. Who are "they" and what "tricks"? The old guard is who, and just listen to what we have to say about their tricks. Unfortunately, there is no treat there.
Our Recent Review for this week is Queen & Slim. A lot is going on with this film, and all fun and joking aside, we want you to take this journey with us. Watch it before you listen, please. It's important.
Watchmen! We're talking about it, yet again! Will we ever stop? No! Actually, we do have to eat and sleep, and also the season is ending soon so there's that. But it is so much fun and we have lots of theories!
Bonnie & Clyde is our Geriatric Cinematic this time around, and we really can't get enough of the chemistry between Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway. If you haven't seen it, you should at least once and we'll tell you why. Yes. We are telling you what to do. Deal. With. It.

Want to live out your fantasies of murdering the people who bother you the most? If you answered yes, what is wrong with you?! Get some help! Or maybe just watch one of the films we're covering this week, as they are murderous whodunits that will fill your empty soul.
Mark and Kelsey talk about themselves (ugh), then the news about MST3K and Godzilla vs. Kong. After that, it's Knives Out as the Recent Review. Find out if it's good or if Rian Johnson should just stick with Star Wars.
Mark and Kelsey dissect HBO'S Watchmen latest episode with surgical precision (I know, a scalpel isn't exactly a knife but I tried).
Then on to the Geriatric Cinematic! Deathtrap is a film from 1982, but it is far from old and on death's door. Check it out before listening so you can properly plot with us. I mean listen to us. No colluding.

Hey there! Mark and Kelsey have decided to celebrate the coming of the latest Star Wars movie by watching the first film from each trilogy and talking about them! In case you don’t know, they are Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, Star Wars: A New Hope and Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
Look, Christmas is nigh (I had to bring out my old world speech because Christmas demands it). We need to bestow these episodes upon you like the ghosts of Christmas past, present, and future. Just don’t expect any fancy wrapping paper. We’re too cheap for that.

What's fast and red and filled with testosterone? Well, either way, you look at it, it could be boxing gloves or race car as we are covering Raging Bull for our Geriatric Cinematic and Ford v Ferrari for our Recent Review this week.
But let's not get too far ahead of ourselves. We cover the news first, where Kelsey eats her words about James Dean, Disney+ has finally launched and we're taking the good with the bad, and Netflix is coming out swinging with some awesome news.
After "technical difficulties", we are back for episode five of HBO's Watchmen in our We Watch the Watchmen segment. This is honestly one of our favorite segments this week. If you haven't started watching the show, what is wrong with you?! Watch it and geek out with us!

Hey everyone! We have another episode for your earholes! Try not to fall asleep as we cover James Dean posthumously cast in an action film, She-Hulk making forward progress as it chooses a Rick and Morty veteran Jessica Gao and The Academy making yet another controversial move by disqualifying Nigeria from entering into the Best International Feature Film category.
Our recent review this week is Mike Flanagan's Doctor Sleep! Best known for The Haunting of Hill House, he did not disappoint. We will deliver you, not from evil, but to it as we go through the ins and outs of this sequel.
Of course, the only film that made sense for our Geriatric Cinematic this week is The Shining! Or the shinning, as Mark likes to say. He says it's a Simpsons thing and I wouldn't understand, but all I know is it's fun to say. Anyway, join us until the very end to see if it holds up after all these years!

Wednesday Nov 06, 2019
If it ain't broke, don't fix it. That's the motto we're going with this week. Mark, Kelsey and special guest Mike talk about Peyton Reed coming back to direct Ant-Man 3 and Joaquim Dos Santos tagged to direct Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse sequel. Jeph Loeb gets the boot from Marvel TV because Kevin Feige is a boss while D.B. Weiss and David Benioff walk away from making a Star Wars trilogy to work with Netflix. Miracles do exist.
Our Recent Review this week is Terminator: Dark Fate. "There is no fate but what we make." Or something like that. It must be dark because it's Daylight Savings Time. Definitely not a fate thing.
We Watch the Watchmen is back and we talk about the 3rd episode. If you haven't watched this show yet, what is wrong with you? Get on it!
Our Geriatric Cinematic Review is Terminator 2: Judgment Day. What? Kelsey never saw it before? You shouldn't be surprised. Mark and Mike did, and together they all three are the judges of Judgement Day.

Episode 23 - Dolemite v. Dolemite
Wednesday Oct 30, 2019
Wednesday Oct 30, 2019
What's new and sassy, and a little bit trashy? Our new episode! We're covering a new Star Wars trailer, a new Sam Raimi horror flick, a new Edgar Wright film, and a new Barney film. One of these things is not like the other...
Our Recent Review this week is Netflix's Dolemite Is My Name. It's got Eddie Murphy, Wesley Snipes, Keegan-Michael Key, etc. A biopic about the making of a blaxploitation film by Rudy Ray Moore? Yes, please!
We have a new segment called We Watch The Watchmen. What do we do in this segment? We don't watch Watchmen. But we do talk about Watchmen. We aren't stalkers. We're just huge gossips.
Dolemite is our Geriatric Cinematic review, you no business, born insecure, rat soup eatin' mutha--! If you haven't seen this and wild out, you must. Please make sure it is the unedited version in all its glory!
