Episode 60 - Fridioactive

Hey, there all you strong, single-minded women (and men)! We've got some things to discuss with you. First, we have a lot of news, with the Emmy nominations being announced, Ta-Nehisi Coates' Between the World and Me getting a series at HBO, Mark's boyfriend, Edgar Wright, making a new comedy, and more. 
Our Recent Review is Radioactive and our Geriatric Cinematic is Frida. One gives a great example of a woman in love with the world, while the other is a great example of how not to write a story about anyone, let alone an accomplished woman.
If that's not enough for you, we also have our Variety Time, where we talk about John Krasinski and his thieving, entitled ways. Think we're joking? Listen and find out.
Next week's show is a Geriatric Cinematic racing match! The duo will have 2000's Gone In 60 Second race it out with 1974's Gone In 60 Seconds. Who will come out on top? Episode 59 - Cowcaine

Moooove a little closer to the American dream with our latest episode! You can either choose to build a cocaine empire like our Geriatric Cinematic, Brian De Palma's Scarface, or you can use the first cow in your neighborhood to make some quick cash, like our Recent Review of First Cow.
You have time to decide as we cover some news items. We talk about Disney losing money due to COVID-19, The Gray Man coming to Netflix, and Mahershala Ali star in an HBO documentary about legendary boxer Jack Johnson.
In case you still need time to decide where you want to make your money, Mark and Kelsey discuss some wild dreams they had, one of which includes a cow and the other on how to regrow your skin.

Episode 58 - Time Loop, Mark Poops

Do you have a sense of déjà vu? Everyone these days probably feelsthat way since we stuck doing pretty much the same thing, day in and day out. Or are we actually stuck in a time loop?
This week, Mark and Kelsey talk about Zendaya and John DavidWashington making a secret movie together, The Batman is the jumping-off point for a new Gotham PD spin-off, our local theater is closing for good, and much much more.
Our Recent Review is Palm Springs. This film barely came out Friday and it has us all ready choosing who our time loop buddy would be. Variety Time consists of stories about the worst day of our lives. Then, our Geriatric Cinematic is--what else--Groundhog Day!
Next week's show is all about searching for the American dream! Our Recent Review will be A24's First Cow. The Kelly Reichardt film hits VOD on Friday. Well, hello there everyone! We have an awesomely American episode for you this week, following the holiday celebrating the independence of our great, great nation.
 
In the news, we go over the birth of a new Fallout TV series with Amazon, the death of Ennio Morricone, and the production revival of some franchises like Mission: Impossible 7 and The Batman like zombies after the apocalypse.
 
Our Variety Time covers Disney possibly starting wars with new Deepfake-like technology that promises to be so realistic, it'll cause nightmares. Who knew the "House of Mouse" could take such a turn? You can see their new technology here.
 
We have two wild Geriatric Cinematics this week, both American themed. First up is American Ninja. Who could turn away such pointy-jawed entertainment? Next, we have Born on the 4th of July, which sees a young Tom Cruise screaming NSFW expletives at his own mother.

Episode 55 - Let's Take A Psychotic Break

This week we have the news, including Edgar Wright and Boots Riley both coming out with new projects, the passing of Joel Schumacher, and Michael Keaton is in talks to reprise his role as Batman for the new Flash movie with Ezra Miller.
 
Our Recent Review is Shirley. Elizabeth Moss stars in this one, and with her track record for thought-provoking cinema, we couldn't wait to dig into this one. Make sure you watch this so you can join us in our discussion. 
 
The Talented Mr. Ripley is our Geriatric Cinematic this week, and though this film is 20 years old, it has a lot to say. "It's better to be a fake somebody, than a real nobody," is at the core of what this film is about, and we think you should give it a watch then give us a listen.
