Hey everyone! This week, our Recent Review is Malcolm & Marie, and our Geriatric Cinematic is Before Sunrise. Both are important, but only one involves Mark having fun at Kelsey’s expense.
We talk about Marvel’s reboot of Blade, a possible Jimmy Woo MCU spinoff at Disney Plus, and Chiwetel Ejiofor in a The Man Who Fell to Earth series at Paramount+. Another opportunity for Mark to have fun at Kelsey’s expense.
One last thing. We have a new segment called Obscene and Obscure, where we talk about a film we saw that is both obscene and obscure and demands us to willfully lay our eyes on it. This week, we chose Riki-Oh: The Story of Ricky. If you haven’t seen it. Watch it. Your eyeballs will thank you.
Next week's show is a fille with biopics to the brim. Our Recent Review will be Judas and The Black Messiah and we pair that with 1992's Malcolm X. The story about Fred Hampton is premiering on HBO Max on February 12th and you can find the Spike Lee Joint streaming on HBO Max and available to rent on Apple TV, Google Play, YouTube, and other VODs.
