Hey everyone! We hope your eyesight is 20/20 this week as we talk about Edgar Wright's Last Night in Soho as our Recent Review and Eyes of Laura Mars as our Geriatric Cinematic. In the news, we cover Denis Villeneuve’s three-part Dune release ambitions, John Woo’s return to cinema with a no-dialogue action film called Silent Night, and Chloe Zhao’s next project with Universal Pictures based on Dracula.
Our Variety Time segment talks about Warner Bros.’ shortsightedness over Project Popcorn--that is, day-and-date releases. They will resurrect the 45-day hold on streaming services. Hopefully, this helped their hindsight.
Next week, we will be reviewing Marvel’s Eternals, available in theaters November 5th, and Jason and the Argonauts (1963), streaming e for free on YouTube or to rent on YouTube TV, Amazon, Apple TV, and other VOD services.
